Administrateur général de la Comédie-Française de 1979 à 1983, il y est Pensionnaire en 1953, il deviendra sociétaire en 1960.
Fondateur et Président jusqu'à sa disparition de la fondation qui porte aujourd'hui son nom (1983) www.fondation-jacques-toja.com.
