Jean MERCURE (FR)
(27/03/1909, Paris - 24/06/1998, Paris)
Comédien, adaptateur, metteur en scène et homme de théâtre français, né Pierre Libermann.
En 1958, il crée le "Nouveau Cartel" avec André Barsacq, Jean-Louis Barrault et Raymond Rouleau.
Fondateur et directeur du Théâtre de la Ville de 1968 à 1985.
Le 24 juin 1998, il se donne la mort avec son épouse, la comédienne Jandeline. Il est inhumé à Villiers-sous-Grez. Sa fille Isa Mercure a fait don de toutes les archives de Jean Mercure à l'Association de la Régie théâtrale, consultables à la Bibliothèque historique de la ville de Paris.
